Common Dental Emergencies

Some things, like teeth cleanings or whitening, are easily scheduled ahead of time and never a major rush. Other oral health problems, on the other hand, can’t wait for treatment. Here’s a few of the most common problems that qualify as dental emergencies that need immediate attention.
A Tooth or Teeth Being Dislodged
  • If a tooth is knocked out of place, whether from a fall, a sporting injury or anything in between, it can be properly reinstalled if things move quickly enough. Grab the tooth that has come out, rinse it, and bring it in within the hour for the highest hope of reinsertion. If it has remained in place but it loosened considerably, it will be an easier fix but it still must be looked at right away.
Lost Filling/Crown
  • If a filling or crown is knocked out of place, you are most likely going to feel a great deal of pain from the exposed area. We can help you fix the current solution or install something new to resolve it.
Abscess
  • These painful infections of gum tissue or the bone surrounding it must be addressed right away. The bacteria can, in severe cases, spread through your body and cause you to be ill on top of the pain. Don’t ever let a painful abscess linger.
Jaw Fracture
  • On top of teeth and gums being severely injured in the process of a jaw fracture, your entire mouth can stay misaligned after the injury if it isn’t treated right away.
